M.A. Vizsolyi & Ronnie Yates
M.A. Vizsolyi is the author of three books of poetry. The Lamp with Wings (HarperCollins), his full-length collection, was winner of the National Poetry Series, selected by Ilya Kaminsky. He is also the author of Notes on Melancholia (Monk Books) and the limited edition artist chapbook The Case of Jane: a verse play (500places Press, Berlin). His most recent work can be found inGulf Coast, The New Orleans Review, Pleiades and Ploughshares. He teaches creative writing at Purchase College, and live in Brooklyn.
Ronnie Yates’ poems have appeared in Ploughshares, POOL, Colorado Review, and on BOMblog, and his manuscript, Inconsolable Garden, was a finalist for the 2012 Emily Dickinson First Book Award (offered by the Poetry Foundation and Graywolf Press). He’s been awarded residencies at the Atlantic Center for the Arts and the Jentel Artist Residency Program and recently completed a collaborative work a day for seven days for the Morning Drawing Residency. Yates collaborates across the disciplines with visual and conceptual artists, as well as composers/musicians/improvisers. He will have collaborative work (with David Feil) shown in the upcoming “Do It, Houston” show. Currently, he teaches in the IART program at the University of Houston/The Mitchell Center for the Arts.
